Reuters Group PLC announces that on 30 January 2008 it purchased for cancellation 1,000,000 of its ordinary shares from JP Morgan Cazenove Limited at a price of 603.3362 p per share.

Following the above purchase the total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding 135,860,000 shares held as treasury shares) is 1,248,004,261.
