Reuters Group plc announces that on 14 February 2008 it purchased for cancellation 900,000 of its ordinary shares from JP Morgan Cazenove Limited at a price of 605.7515p per share.

Following the above purchase the total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding 135,860,000 shares held as treasury shares) is 1,239,452,521.
